style=\"font-weight: 400\">Military Federal Tuition Assistance (FTA) is a form of financial aid available through the Department of Defense to eligible Active Duty service members. In general, eligible active duty service members can receive FTA at a rate of $166.67 per quarter hour with an annual maximum of $4,500.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong>The benefit payment of $166.67 per credit hour will not cover the total cost of attendance at Â鶹´«Ã½ (Â鶹´«Ã½).<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Before you can apply for FTA, you will need to visit your installation\u2019s education office first. There, you\u2019ll receive college counseling to assist you in developing an education plan. When considering an academic program, keep in mind Â鶹´«Ã½\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/catalog.sou.edu\/content.php?catoid=10&amp;navoid=1235#Accreditaion\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/catalog.sou.edu\/content.php?catoid%3D10%26navoid%3D1235%23Accreditaion&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1689197286274000&amp;usg=AOvVaw1xI5LH8d_urbKmfNQ5vqXO\">programmatic accreditation<\/a>\u00a0for many of our degrees. Up-to-date information about requirements for licensure or other conditions and requirements (beyond degree requirements) can be obtained from your college and\/or major advisor to ensure that you are accessing the most current information for your chosen career field. Once you\u2019ve selected a program and developed an education plan, you can submit your FTA request.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">You can also visit the Department of Defense\u2019s TA DECIDE, a dynamic information and comparison tool that is designed specifically to aid participants of the DoD\u2019s Tuition Assistance (FTA) program in making informed choices on schools and education programs.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dodmou.com\/TADECIDE\/\" take to the TA DECIDE webpage.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-style: inherit\"><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong>On May 5, 2021, the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense issued a memorandum to the Veterans Affairs\u2019 (VA) Education Services clarifying the approval of concurrent receipt for GI Bill\u00ae beneficiaries of the Federal Tuition Assistance (FTA) and the Montgomery GI Bill\u00ae-Select Reserve Educational Benefit (MGIB-SR or Chapter 1606).<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-style: inherit\"><strong>What does this mean to you?<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0<em style=\"font-weight: inherit\">If you are enrolled in classes at half-time or greater, you can receive both FTA and Chapter 1606 benefits.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Â鶹´«Ã½, in accordance with the Department of Defense\u2019s Tuition Assistance Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), does not: provide any commission, bonus, or any other incentive payment based directly or indirectly on securing enrollments, provide federal financial aid (including FTA funds) to any persons or entities engaged in any student recruiting, admission activities, or decisions regarding the awarding of student financial assistance.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Additionally, Â鶹´«Ã½ does not permit high-pressure recruitment tactics such as making multiple unsolicited contacts (3 or more), including contacts by phone, email, and\/or in-person, or engaging in same-day recruitment and registration for the purpose of securing servicemember enrollments.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">In accordance with State and Federal laws, Â鶹´«Ã½ is compliant with\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/oregon.public.law\/statutes\/ors_352.293\"
