itemscope=\"itemscope\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/CreativeWork\" ><div class='avia_textblock'  itemprop=\"text\" ><p>The National Residence Hall Honorary is the only nationwide organization that exclusively recognizes leaders in the residence halls. It is also considered the recognition branch of the National Association of College and University Residence Halls (NACURH), Inc. The opportunity to have a chapter is a service of NACURH, Inc.<\/p>\n<p>Chapters are designed to give local, regional and national recognition to students making outstanding contributions to their campus and residence halls. NACURH firmly believes in the value of student involvement in residence hall life through community service, community building, advocacy and educational programming. Membership in chapters is limited to one percent of your school&#8217;s residence hall population, or 20 members, whichever is greater. NRHH is a very select group of leaders thus being selected into the membership is an honor in which one can take a great amount of pride in.<\/p>\n<p>Realizing the value of participation, leaders have contributed vast amounts of their personal time in an effort to make their own college experiences more meaningful to them. This effort not only benefits them, it benefits their campus and entire residence hall system at their school as well. NRHH exists to honor these leaders. They work hard and all too often go unnoticed without even so much as a thank you. That is the fundamental purpose of an NRHH Chapter.<\/p>\n<p>Even though the main purpose of having an NRHH chapter on your campus is to honor your outstanding leaders, some chapters choose to take the process one step further. Many chapters sponsor on-campus leadership workshops and\/or speakers, co-sponsor programs with the Residence Hall Association, serve on housing committees and establish residence hall leadership awards or scholarships. This means recognizing anyone who makes an impact on our campus or stands out as a leader in their community. One way we do this is by writing OTMs (Of The Months) that recognize students on a regional level for outstanding leadership or programming on campus. We also often choose to recognize school faculty or anyone who works on our campus and does an amazing job. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nrhh.nacurh.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Visit the national website for NRHH and OTMs<\/a> where you can look at past award winners and see how to submit your own.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Value of Service<\/strong><br \/>\nThe National Residence Hall Honorary upholds the value of community service through on- and off-campus events. These events give directly back to our campus and local communities, and we encourage everyone to join us.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Pancake Feed<\/strong><br \/>\nThis is our most popular event in which we always have a full house. We cook and prepare pancakes, eggs, and bacon for the students Wednesday night of Quiet Week. Past Pancake Feeds have also had karaoke, bingo, craft room, and a raffle for Raider swag and other prizes. This event gives students the opportunity to meet other students from all across campus as well as get a much-needed break from studying.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Trick or Treat for Canned Goods<\/strong><br \/>\nTrick or Treat for Canned Goods is our second most popular event on campus. This event takes place the day before Halloween every year. We gather as many volunteers as we can and walk all over Ashland asking for donations to give to the Ashland Emergency Food Bank and the Â鶹´«Ã½ Food Pantry. It is an awesome opportunity to give back directly to the community during what has become a yearly tradition.<\/p>\n<p>Thank you for your interest in applying for NRHH! We are the top 1% of student leaders on campus. Our two core values are recognition and service and membership. Our members live these values each and everyday.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Potential members must:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Be a full time student<\/li>\n<li>Have a 2.5 GPA<\/li>\n<li>Have lived in an on-campus Residence Hall (Shasta, Madrone, McLoughlin) for at least one full academic term<\/li>\n<li>Be able to demonstrate how they exemplify the values of service and recognition<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If chosen to be a member of NRHH you will be asked to attend an induction ceremony and help out at our Pancake Feed.<\/p>\n<p>We are excited that you would like to join
