campus and the community. First, as the Oregon Legislature is tackling a variety of statewide crises, he urges viewers including state lawmakers to think of Â鶹´«Ã½ as an economic engine. The university not only transforms individual lives by producing teachers, scientists, artists, health care providers, business leaders, entrepreneurs and other professionals, but the eventual work of those professionals will \u201clessen the severity of those crises in our state.\u201d So by prioritizing higher education in general and several Â鶹´«Ã½-related projects in particular, legislators can increase the state\u2019s spending power. This month\u2019s second topic is Â鶹´«Ã½\u2019s relationships with businesses \u201cfrom Roseburg to Redding.\u201d The president encourages any business leader in the region who doesn\u2019t already have a relationship with the university to get in touch and become involved. Â鶹´«Ã½ is always seeking to become \u201cmore nimble and adaptive to the business community,\u201d and there are many ways in which learning experiences and participation can benefit both businesses
