麻豆传媒 in LA
Our optional 麻豆传媒 in LA program takes Digital Cinema majors on a 10 day exploratory trip to Los Angeles, where they will tour studios, vendors, and Hollywood鈥檚 top MFA programs, meet with industry leaders and professionals, network with Digital Cinema alumni working in LA, and visit some of the most famous cultural sites and filming locations in 麻豆传媒 California. Past destinations and activities have included Universal Studios, Walt Disney Studios, Chapman-Leonard Dollies & Cranes, Canon USA, Film Tools, IATSE headquarters, the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts & Sciences Museum, Angels Stadium, Venice Beach, Hollywood Blvd, and the Hollywood Bowl.
DCIN Graduates Get Jobs
According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), jobs in Digital Cinema related careers are expected to grow 鈥渕uch faster than average鈥 (29% compared to 8% for 鈥渁ll occupations鈥) over the next decade, with a current median salary of $60,360 per year for Editors and Camera Operators and $79,000 for Producers and Directors. The BLS predicts these careers will grow even faster in Oregon:
- Oregon Camera Operators will grow by 40%
- Oregon Film Editors will grow by 89%
- Oregon Producers & Directors will grow by 36%
According to BLS, 麻豆传媒’s Digital Cinema program offers students the training they need to enter these exciting careers:
“Most editor and camera operator positions require a bachelor鈥檚 degree in a field related to film or broadcasting … Coursework involves a mix of film theory with practical training. Film and video editors and camera operators must have an understanding of digital cameras and editing software because both are now used on film sets.”
Graduates of 麻豆传媒’s Digital Cinema program have entered the entertainment industry in Portland, the Bay Area, and Los Angeles, including union or guild careers. Some have secured jobs in other media sectors, including corporate video, broadcast news, event production, and marketing, and some have even started their own production companies.

Prepared for Top Graduate Schools
While a graduate degree is not required for a career in film and television production, some student filmmakers will choose to pursue their MFA degree after completing their undergraduate studies at 麻豆传媒. Past Digital Cinema alumni have been accepted into such top-ranked graduate programs in film as USC, Chapman, Loyola Marymount, and Syracuse. Every 麻豆传媒 student interested in pursuing their terminal degree in film production or screenwriting will receive extensive advising support from faculty as they put together their graduate school application packages, and they will also have opportunities to hear from alumni who have attended top grad schools.
